Life Poster.
Today
R.J. Baughan : We find greatest joy, not in getting, but in expressing what we are... Men do not really live for honors or for pay; their gladness is not the taking and holding, but in doing, the striving, the building, the living. It is a higher joy to teach than to be taught. It is good to get justice, but better to do it; fun to have things but more to make them. The happy man is he who lives the life of love, not for the honors it may bring, but for the life itself.
Thanks Ali.

Home.
Done.
Another week done and dusted, thank goodness! I've been feeling tired and aching for some sunshine and spring-like weather. Luckily, here, it isn't subzero temperatures and the cherry blossoms are out, the buds on the trees are pushing through, and you can almost smell it coming in the air...somewhere under all the rain.

Grace.
We've all heard the saying "Tuesday's Child is full of grace." But what does that saying really mean? What does the word grace really mean?
According to the dictionary, grace is a disposition to be generous or helpful. It is a sense of consideration for others. And grace is also a favor that is rendered by one who need not do so.
Drip, Drop, Drip.

Wishcasting.
Be a maker of magic and a tender of wishes. It’s easy. Wishing, it's a place where magic begins! So close your eyes and make a wish!

MORE ME.
Fantabulous.
Empathy.
Valuing uniqueness, and figuring out what each and every individual child needs to continue the metamorphosis...this has been my quest. I watch as beautiful butterflies flutter around my classroom. Life can be so exquisite when we look into each others eyes and really see…and truly feel...I believe in empathy.
When I go into my classroom each day, I am so privileged to get to touch the lives of my children. My “kiddos” as I have been known to call my students affectionately. I am told I have a “gift” as a teacher. I believe in empathy.

Eyes Open.
Good Monday.
Happy Monday morning from beautiful Lawrence, Kansas. I am not sure I can even begin to express how greatful I am to have such wonderful friends and family! I have been thinking over the past few weeks about what I could do as a thank you to all of you for the awesome support you have shown. I guess all the thanks and smiles have been enough! This is a good place to be. Love watching the power of the people.
I'm Back.

Heroes.
Amen.
"It's been so long since I picked up a pen and wrote more than everyday necessities: a grocery list or a phone number. But something about this place, authors alive and breathing within its walls, reminds me that I am writing because I must, because it is how I am supposed to experience the world. And if my words never glimmer longer than a moment, it doesn't matter. Because in that moment I am living and my words are lighting my jouney."

Rock UR Chalk.
ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK, GO KU!
Our Father, who art in Lawrence,
Hallowed be thy Game.
Thy bracket come.
Thy upset will be done, In Syracuse as it is in Allen Field House.
Give us this day our deserved game.
And forgive us our turnovers,
As we forgive Roy who double-crossed against us.
And lead us not into defeat,
But deliver us from East Coast bias,
For Kansas is the basketball kingdom,
And the tradition,
And the glory,
Forever and ever.
Amen.
U + UR Words.
I started thinking about language as a tool after a listened to a 'crazy' voice mail this morning and found a great quote!
Daphne Rose Kingma : Language does have the power to change reality. Therefore, treat your words as the mighty instruments they are - to heal, to bring into being, to remove, as if by magic, the terrible violations of childhood, to nurture, to cherish, to bless, to forgive - to create from the whole cloth of your soul, true love.

Wise Words.
Only 20.
Holding on to my youth, always getting my way, controling every situation, stockpiling more stuff...that's been me back in the day. Now, as I realize how much those things don't matter one tiniest bit, I can pour myself into things that do. Here are 20 directions for me that are now oh-so-much-more important:
1. Love One Another
2. Choose Truth
3. Smile Like You Mean It
4. Keep Good Company
5. Focus Outward
6. Count Your Blessings
7. Lend a Hand
8. Stretch Your Creativity
9. Face Today Head-On
10. Stay Sweet
11. Worry Less
12. Age Gracefully (why fight it? fighting isn't graceful :)
13. Show Yourself Friendly
14. Keep a Quiet Heart
15. Stand By Your Man (that's right, and proud of it)
16. Keep On the Sunny Side (isn't there enough negativity?)
17. Stop To Smell the Roses
18. Forgive & Move Forward
19. Be Still & Wait (slow down!!!)
20. Honour Your Mother
Invite.
The paragraph reads: invite love. invite change. invite differences. invite questions. invite people. invite conversation. invite creativity. invite exploration. invite goodness. invite someone new to the table. invite opportunity. invite music. invite calm. invite emotion. this month, invite yourself to fully experience life. Sometimes you literally need to invite something into your life for it to make an appearance, for it to become real.
What sorts of things can you invite into your life this month? And how are you guys doing with your word for 2007? Is it still right in front of you? If not, maybe it is time for a reminder. Maybe you need to invite your word back into your daily life or invite it to help you move in whatever direction it is you want to go this year.
Often, all you really have to do is ask...

Super.
You guys are super. I want to send you all a boquet of pretty yellow flowers and give you a big hug.
Speaking of yellow, I am really into yellow right now. Bought three different kind of yellow flowers at the grocery store yesterday, my desktop image is yellow, and even the pants I had on yesterday were yellow. Must be the time of year - we had fantastic weather yesterday (over 60 degrees I think).
Feeling a bit of that scrapbooking high today. Making plans for chapter openers in my book. Thinking, scheming, dreaming a bit...and then making it a reality later today.

{Attitude}
Attitude today: it's all good.
Feeling better mentally (all those gratitudes were really uplifting
and many made me smile and laugh - much needed - thank you),
but physically I am still under the weather. Anyone have a good
remedy for a stiff neck and broken arm? Just playin'. Took pain meds for the
other symptoms but the neck and arm pain is lingering-
Time to take a little nap.
I have been super grouchy lately. Grumpy & grumbly and generally down.
In a funk that has been tough to shake. Now I know that being grateful
is a really effective way to get out of feeling down.
I know it. And yet, I have been wallowing in that overall yuckiness.
Allowing little things to push me over the edge. Little patience.
Sounds like I have been really fun to be around doesn't it? Poor friends and family. Thanks all for telling me what I needed to hear and reminding me how
very important an attitude of gratitude really is in each of our lives.
I am going to get myself out of this funk.
