Bomb Threat.


All Lawrence public schools were on partial lockdown for several hours Thursday morning after the nonspecific bomb threat was received.

Authorities said Douglas County Communication received five calls to the 911 center starting just after 5 a.m. No one was on the line. At 6:46 a.m., a male caller told a dispatcher there was a bomb at a school and at City Hall. The caller did not specify the city or the schools. School district officials said that in response, they initiated their crisis response plan. Thursday afternoon, police said the threat was not credible. Police said a 47-year-old man from Lawrence has been named as a suspect in the case.
